Getting to know you – Harry Orton

With the Great City Chefs first round looming we thought we’d give you a small introduction to one of our chefs, Harry Orton. In the lead up to each round we will let you in on our chefs real opinions on food and also showcase some of our judges to help you separate the Simon Cowells from the Mary Berrys.

So let's begin with Harry Orton; he is currently studying at Harlow college and works two days a week at One Moorgate Place. His dad inspired him to cook, and has loved it since childhood.

What would you cook to impress your guests?

Smoked Poussin on a bed of ratatouille with gravy

Your favourite meal?

Australian burgers. That’s a burger with all the trimmings: pickled beets, cheese, pineapple, a fried egg plus a chilli mayo: a real monster!

A food you cannot stand?

Gherkins

How would you describe your cooking style?

Well flavoured food, seasoned properly. Nothing too plain

Who would be your ideal dinner guest?

James Martin, he's one of Harry's favourite chefs and it would be pretty special to cook for a famous chef.
